Great Gift Card #5

Hi Friends,

Here are the directions for the fifth card from the Great Gift Idea #1.

Talk about easy. Here it is. If you have DSP to use up this is a fun way to do it.

You will need the following to make this card:

A Basic Black card base at 4-¼ “ x 5-½”

Very Vanilla Piece at 4-⅛” x 5-⅜”

Designer Series Paper (DSP) piece at 4”  x 5-¼ “

Scrap piece of Very Vanilla for your sentiment

A piece of Very Vanilla to stamp the flower and leaves

Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Lost Lagoon ink pads

Picture Perfect Stamp Set

Timeless Textures Stamp Set

Silver Thread

Stamp your flower in Lost Lagoon and leaves in crumb, cut out by hand. Stamp your sentiment in Stazon Black ink. I used the timeless texture check stamp and splotches to give some added interest to the sentiment strip. When attaching your flower to the sentiment strip; use foam tape on the back. Use this to attach the silver thread. Just make loops with the thread. It will add an interesting element to the card. Attach your leaves with glue or double sided tape.

Begin by putting the Very Vanilla mat on the Basic Black card base, the Very Vanilla mat then the DSP and finally the flower and sentiment.

Great Gift Card #4

Hi Friends,

Happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for here in the USA. I personally am thankful for a loving God, freedom to practice whatever religion we want, and of course my family and friends.

Here are the directions for the fourth card from the Great Gift Idea #1.

Now I must admit this is one of my favorite cards in the group. It looks complicated but it is really easy.

You will need the following to make this card:

A Crumb Cake card base at 4-¼ “ x 5-½”.

Basic Black piece at 3-⅞” x 5-⅛”

Very Vanilla piece at 3-¾” x 5”

Scrap piece of brown cardstock cut in the shape of a branch

A piece of Very Vanilla to stamp the hummingbird

Small flower punch, small piece of Very Vanilla cardstock  and 3 pearls.

A piece of blue ribbon

Crumb Cake and Lost Lagoon ink pads

Picture Perfect Stamp Set

Timeless Textures Stamp Set

Stamp your hummingbird and cut out by hand. Sponge a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Lost Lagoon and Crumb Cake ink. Punch out three flowers and add pearls to the center. Set aside.

Using the flourish from the Timeless Textures set stamp the Very Vanilla 3-¾” x 5” piece. I stamped off on a scrap piece of paper to make the blue ink lighter before stamping onto the Very Vanilla. I used the rectangular stamp and used Crumb Cake ink around the bottom and right side of the Very Vanilla piece. I then took a sponge and added some Lost Lagoon and Crumb Cake on the same piece until I thought it looked pleasing. Add this to the Crumb Cake card basic.

A fun, fabulous card!

Great Gift Idea #1

Hello Friends,

Here are some cards that I made a while ago that I just love. I put them together in a homemade box and gave them to my mother. I will be sharing over the next few days how each card was made.

I have been thinking each of these cards would make a great sketch for other seasonal cards. I'll need to see what I can do and share them with you.

This is a sketch bloghop. I used Sketch #30 over at Stars and Stamps.

My first card is a Clean and Simple card. It's not bad but I really like the second card I made using the same sketch.

Here's my version of the SVCAS (Sandy's Version of Clean and Simple) I used the same papers just added a few more mats and a little ribbon.

Operation Write Home is a group of cardmakers who are honored to make cards for our deployed service members – a small thing we can do for all the sacrifices made by them and their families.

My goal was to make a masculine themed card. I find it so much easier to make feminine cards. So this challenge was for myself as well.

Ok so here is card number 3 for my card a day challenge. I made this challenge myself. I was trying to think of a way to keep inspired. Over the holiday I just didn't feel like creating so I needed something.

Longtime No Post

Here is a card I made recently...just because.
It is time to just make cards for no reason. It seems to be so freeing.

The beads are from PWA. They are called Bubble Beads and the picture does not show all the great colors in each bead.

Shoebox party

Here are a series of cards that were one project at the Shoebox Party. This project was done by the party girl herself. The first item is a holder for the cards made from a school type folder.

This was a fun project plus it gave me great ideas to work other cards from.

Card to mom

Hi Everyone,

Here is another card I sent off to my mom. It is a CAS style card. I really like making this type of card. I hope you enjoy it.

Here is a close up of the flowers I cut on my circut. This is flashing foil from the hardware store colored with alochol inks.

CHA envy challenge 1

Hi everyone,
I made this card for a challenge over at Stamp TV. Of course, I waited until the last minute to make them. The deadline is 7 pm central time today. So if you want to join the challenge you'd better get going. They are randomly drawing someone to win a stamp set so why not try yourself. The link is on my side bar to take you to the Stamp TV site.


The ribbon started out white. I didn't have any yellow ribbon to match the card so I colored it with copic markers Y06 and V12. These are the same colors I used to color the middle of the iris.
