PWA Beadie Buddie Blog Hop & Blog Candy

Welcome to the Blog Hop. I am sure you have seen some awesome things so far. Hopefully you came from Linda's blog and saw her wonderful beadie pieces of art. If you happened here by accident be sure to start at the beginning by clicking here. You don't want to miss anything.

Penny Wise Arts is a wonderful community of crafters, artists and fun people from all over the world. It is the friendliest Yahoo group around. I hope you will want to join our group. We love to share not only our art but our life as well. We have been around since 2003 and plan to be here for many years to come. We have monthly swaps of all kinds that revolve around these little beadie wonders.

***If you visit every blog in the Hop and leave a comment and your name will be put in a "hat" for a wonderful prize at the PWA blog. ***

Easter Banner
Here is a little banner I made to celebrate Easter. This was so fun to make. I used my Cricut Expression to cut out all the pieces. I used the George cartridge. The total length of the banner is 24" from button to button. Each square is 2".
Here is a closer view of one square. See those wonderful beads!
I used the buttons to keep everything from falling off the ends and to have something to hide the tape holding the banner to the door.

Supplies used:
Purple Opaque Beads, Sure Tac, O'So Sticky Tape - LB-0027 (PennyWiseArts)
Buttons - FooFaLa
Pattern Paper - K & Company
White card stock - Georgia Pacific
Fiber, Dollar Tree
Staples
Daisy Card
Don't you just love it when you get an idea and it really works. That is what this card represents. I cut out some flowers on my cricut machine and could not throw away the leftover sheet. It started out as an 8 1/2 x 11. I cut it to fit the front of the card base. I also cut a sheet of O'So Sticky tape and stuck it to the backside. I punched some orange dots and put them on the tape to be the middle of the flowers. I peeled off the other side of the tape and stuck everything to the card base. I stamped and cut out the butterfly. I put foam tape on the back and stuck it to the front of the card. I then poured beads all over the card to fill in the flowers. Below is a close up of those wonderful beads. The lamp behind the card is giving it the "glow" effect.

Supplies
O'So Sticky Tape cut from the 6"x 6' mega roll
Clear beads
Butterfly from Paper Inspirations
Stazon Ink - Black Jet

Beaded Suncatcher

Hi everybody,

Ok so I went to Wal Mart and found these sun catchers marked down to $.25. I couldn't pass that up. Of course when you look at the finished product you will see it is not the blank butterfly as in the first picture. I didn't think to take a picture of the daisies (bad me) but I did want you to see what the sun catcher was like before I started.

I began by painting the back side of the sun catcher the color I wanted to show through on the front.

I then filled in the flower on the front with Sure Tac glue. I poured yellow microbeads in the centers of each flower and let it sit until almost dry. Then I added more glue in the petals and added clear microbeads.
You can get the beads and glue from PennyWise Arts. You can click on the PWA blinkie on the right hand side and it will take you to their site.

This isn't a very good picture but perhaps you can see the sparkle of the beads. Be sure to come back for the PWA blog on Friday.
Supplies used
Sun catcher - Kelly's Crafts
Acrylic paint - Delta Creamcoat
Yellow paint - Luna Lights
Clear beads, Yellow beads, Sure Tac - PWA

Have a wonderful Thursday.

Sewing KIt

Hi everybody,

I saw these sewing kits at the Dollar Tree and decided to make them new. They came in a rigid plastic box with fragile plastic hinges that didn't hold very well.

The pattern paper and cardstock are from Close to My Heart. The flower and pearl are from Prima. The ribbon is from details & accessories. The glass beads within the flower are from PennyWiseArts and I used Sure Tac to adhere them. You can find the link to PWA on my menu bar.

The scallop edge on the left side was done by a Fiskars punch. The zig zag stitch on the right panel is a stamp from Close to My Heart and so was the ink that I used.
I hope you enjoyed this project.

Oh Gus!

Happy Monday,

These pictures really make me smile. I was so shocked when I walked into the kitchen and found Gus eating while he was laying down. Something you can't tell from these pictures is that Gus has only 3 legs. I'm not sure if he is just tired or hurts. But he is such a card look at those sad puppy eyes. It's a dogs life for sure.

Hope to see you at the blog hop Friday.

OWH Springbreak Bloghop

Welcome to the OWH Springbreak Bloghop. Wasn't Marcy's blog just fabulous. If you didn't get here from her blog you may want to start at the beginning by clicking here so you don't miss out on any of the other fantastic blogs. (if the link didn't work try this http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/)

Here is a very simple card I made over the weekend. I cased this card layout over at Two Peas. I can't seem to stop making them. By changing the colors and images it looks totally different. I will be including this card in my next box to OWH shippers.

I make cards for our nation's heroes because it is a very small thing I can do to honor the men, women and their families that are risking it all for my freedom. My father took part in the attack at Iwo Jima many years ago. I never want to forget his service to our country. Now that he is no longer with us it is a way to pay my respect to those long ago heroes.

Please leave me a comment and then hop over to Windy's. She has a wonderful card to show you. I have been going to her blog for inspiration and I'm sure you'll find some too. Click here to check it out and to keep on the blog hopping trail.

Thanks for joining us.

Marianne

PS Please consider joining us in making cards for Operation Write Home.

I'm Back and blog hops

I'm back from the retreat and all rested up. What a wonderful time with other women who love Jesus Christ just like I do. It was a time of refreshing, laughing and just being goofy. Plus I must add I have not eaten so much in a long time. We were so pampered it felt wonderful.

All the craft kits I put together (50 in all) for the retreat were a big hit. We crafted until the wee hours of the night or maybe I should say morning. I don't get to craft with others very often so this was pure heaven to me.

So back to business.

Here are a few things that were made with my kits. I will add more in a later entry.

Here is the outside of a photo album.

All the pages are basically set up the same. These flowers are all grown in my yard. Since spring is just around the corner I have plants already poking up out of the ground.

The bead covered baby food jar is a tea light holder and the flowered bottle holds handmade bath salts.
This Saturday I am participating in a blog hop for Operation Write Home. It is a wonderful group of women and men who make cards for Heroes to send home to their loved ones. You can check them out by clicking here. They also have a blog with great tutorials, challenges and other fun things that is the sponsor of the blog hop and you can find that blog here.

I'm so happy to be back !

I hope to be back to my blog soon. I am working on projects for an upcoming Women's Retreat at church and it seems to have taken over my life.

See you all soon.
