OWH Birthday Bash with Perfect Papercrafting 2013

Hello everyone,

We are still celebrating our birthday! I hope you have been able to party right along with us.

Welcome to the OWH Birthday Bash blog skip featuring Perfect Papercrafting Perfect Layers!
If you click here you can start at the very beginning of the skip. You know you wouldn't want to miss out on any of the great inspiration.

If you've been skipping from the beginning you should have come from Patti's Blog.

I used two of OWH Sketches.

First is #132.

I have no idea why I thought this color combination would work. But for some reason I like it.
What hero wouldn't want to send hugs and kisses to their loved one. This one could pass easily for a love card but even could be used as a valentine card if needed.

The second card is sketch #173.

With this card I will be writing an Any Hero message for my next box.

I've gotta tell you I wasn't sure I was going to like using the Perfect Layer rulers but I have fallen in love with them. It makes it so easy to have even layers all the way around your image or sentiment.
You can have layers from 1/16" all the way to 1".

This skip gets better. I'm sure you read it on an earlier blog post but I want to be sure to remind you.  Perfect Paper Crafting has generously given us a discount code to give you our readers that will get you 5% off their purchases - no expiration!  So you will need to use this code:  OWH5%. And it doesn't stop there, they are also doing a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to PPC. What you need to do is comment on every blog on the hop to qualify.

What you say, you have never made cards for OWH? If you click here you will get the guidelines needed to keep our heroes safe and to make it easier for them to send the cards back home to loved ones.

To continue with the fun check out Lezlyes blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

OWH Sketch #191

Hello Everybody.

Here's my take on the new sketch for this week at OWH.

191 Sketch (Sept 22)

I loved this weeks sketch. It would work well to highlight a sentiment too.
I used my new Perfect Papercrafting Perfect Layer rulers for all the black matting. I just love these rulers. I even got them to work on the pointed endings for the banner.

Thanks for stopping by.

VCMP Sketch 188

labor day vcmp
188 sketch (Sept 1)

Here is the sketch for this week and the next challenge in the VCMP.
This is my take on the sketch.

My strips at the bottom are washi tape put on a white piece of cardstock. It is hard to tell from the picture but my embellishment is two rhinestones put on the wheels of the first bicycle.

VCMP #4

Hello Everyone,

I've been busy this weekend working on card challenge for the VCMP at OWH.

Challenge #4 was to make a Love Card with Sketch #29.

Masculine cards are difficult for me so I thought I'd give myself an additional challenge of making a masculine love card. What do you think?

VCMP #3

labor day vcmp

Hello everyone,

Here we are at Challenge #3 which was Triple Die Cutting.
This was really difficult but I survived!

This is similar to the Triple Stamping Technique only it is flat because the images fit one inside the other instead of on top of each other.

Our heroes are so far away from home I can image that they would one to send a kiss home to a spouse, child or maybe a parent.

If you would like to join in the fun just click here to start at the beginning of the challenges.

See in challenge #4.

VCMP #2

labor day vcmp

Hello again,

Here is my VCMP card challenge #2. We needed to place something on our cards that represented the letters O W H.

My O is the ornament.

W is the Wistera Wonder cardstock.

The H  is the Ho Ho Ho stamp from Stampin' Up!

Sorry about the poor picture - I didn't have my regular camera only my I phone.

I hope you enjoy my card.

If you would like to join in the fun just click here to start at the beginning of the challenges.

See in challenge #2.

OWH Animal Pun Blog Skip

Hello Hoppers!

If you came here from Lee Mae you are in the right spot but if you found me first you really should start at Operation Write Home so you don't miss any great "punny" inspiration.

You've never heard of Operation Write Home - oh my. It is a great non profit organization that sends handmade cards to deployed servicemen and women to write home to their loved ones. If you'd like to learn more click here.

Stampers Best is a great friend to Operation Write Home by not only having stamps made by Sandy Allnock the founder of Operation Write Home but making a $1 donation from each sale of any Operation Write Home stamps in their store. My card is made with the Stamper's Best set Turtley Awesome.

If you click here it will take you to the Stampers Best store showing the three sets of stamps you have seen today on all the blogs. With this blog skip Stampers Best is launching these sets with a buy two get one free. What a great deal!

The next stop on the skip is Ronni @ Ronnie's Spot.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Lady Anne's Christmas Progressive Challenge

Hello everyone,

Can you believe it has been so long since I have posted. Time is just flying by.
I've been dealing with some life challenges but am happy to be back to card making challenges instead.

I ran upon a website called Lady Anne's Challenges. Since I make cards for Operation Write Home I thought the Christmas Progressive Challenge would be right up my alley.

We were given 2 free digis from Crafting with Jack for the first months challenge.

Here are my cards using those digi's.  I will put the links to the challenge and blogs below.

Here are the promised links if you'd like to learn about the challenge yourself.

I just want to thank Lady Anne for challenging us to make Christmas cards throughout the year and for Angela at Crafting with Jack for the free digis.

Until next time,

Marianne
